Program Orientation

Berwick & District Nursery School was established in 1971 based on the belief that the first five years of life are the most significant in terms of learning and development. A quality play environment will be established by providing a cooperative approach between families and teachers to see that the needs of the children are met.

  Clothing & Personal Items
It is difficult for teachers to identify each child's belongings. Please ensure that personal items are identified with the child's name. Please be sure your child comes daily with the following:
    1. Full change of clothing.
    2. Rubber-soled shoes, sneaker or slippers (Velcro fastening or slip-ons preferred) to be left at school for indoor wear only. Outdoor footwear will not be permitted inside the playrooms for sanitation reasons.
    3. Comfort toys/blankets can be brought in if needed. Each child as a cubby that it can be left in. We ask that children leave other toys at home.
    4. Parents are reminded to send children dressed for play. When children are playing outdoors, painting, etc, they are bound to get their clothing dirty. Therefore, we ask that parents send their child in play clothes only!
